Zebras Hit the Streets of San Diego
August 22, 2019
Residents of San Diego, CA have a new, flexible and eco-friendly way to get around their city.
Earlier last month, Zebra introduced its electric moped subscription to the sunny streets of San Diego, with services spanning from Oceanside in the north to Chula Vista in the south. The initial launch began with 120 Zebras and will grow to as many as 1,000 by the end of the year.
For only $99/month, subscribers get unlimited access to their own electric moped. There are no down payments, long term commitments or hidden fees.
“We’re excited to help bring a new form of affordable and clean mobility to residents of San Diego,” said Kody Amburgey, Co-Founder and CEO of Zebra. “Zebras are perfect for mid-range trips that might be difficult to complete on some of the other available form factors.”
To help riders get accustomed to this new form of mobility, Zebra’s employees personally make every new delivery. At drop-off, all riders are taken through an in-person tutorial before being allowed to unlock their Zebra.
According to Amburgey, hundreds of people are already on the waiting list for the next batch of Zebras that are expected to arrive in the coming months.
